New Sweden?

On March 29, 1638 the first Swedish expedition to North America landed on a rocky point at what is now Wilmington, Delaware and named it New Sweden. The expedition was organized and lead by Clas Fleming, a Swedish Admiral. Peter Minuit was appointed the first governor of the newly established colony of New Sweden.
