School trips

The Travel Professor on tour

Upon returning from a recent journey a colleague stated “Boy you’re lucky! You get to go cool trips!”

I replied “Chaperoning a group of 7th and 8th graders is no vacation. There are dead cell phones and no charging places, raging hormones, young romances, roommate conflicts, food allergies and on and on and on!”

To keep the students engaged and to maximize learning we’re up at dawn and on the go until late in the evening. This also keeps them away from the hotel and out of potential trouble.

Actually I’m ready for a vacation! But first I have about 80 presentations to view and comment on.

I’m really looking forward to this Thanksgiving break
